La Part du Quêteux play the traditional music of Quebec.
It's a lively, upbeat mix of chansons-à-répondre,
reels, turluttes and called dances. The group is a combination
of four talented musicians living in the Montreal area:

Born in Notre-Dame des Prairies in the Lanaudière region, FRANÇOIS DAUPHIN ( guitar, percussion, stepdance, vocal ) is the latest recruit of de band. 12 years ago this young man gave his first performance in step dance with "l'Ensemble Folklorique La Foulée"from Joliette. François graduated at the Cégep régional de Lanaudière in Jazz/Pop percussions and Drums. His skils as a percusionnist are easily heard when he plays the guitar in the group.

LEAD VOCALIST STÉPHANE POIRIER, the founding member of the group, is a charismatic story-teller and singer. His words weave tales of love and celebration, of saints and devils, and of the frontier heroes of Quebec’s past. His rich voice transports listeners to far-off places and his humour adds a touch of joie de vivre to every show. He is equally adept as a mandolinist guitarist, and percussionist, adding the rhythm of les os (bones) to sets of reels and songs. He is also a dance-caller and has been known to call square sets in the middle of the show, if there’s room to dance!

HERVÉ TREILLE is a heart and soul member since 2001, this jovial contrabassist from France has claimed his home in Quebec. He provides the foundation of the “Queteux” sound with his great sense of musicality, pulsating rhythm and his wonderful sense of humor.

Montrealer, born of Acadian parents, GASTON BERNARD
(fiddle, mandolin, vocal, footapping ) grew up in a family where musical gatherings were commonplace. His earliest memories are of his grandmother playing reels on the harmonica while foot-tapping in time. His Acadian background accounts for his fluent English which has allowed him to play and sing in a variety of musical projects. He recorded with artists such as David Francy, Steel Rail, Bill Garrett and Penny Lang to name a few.
